The peer review process can be broadly summarized into following steps, although these steps can vary slightly between journals.
Initial Evaluation and Technical Review
The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) checks that the manuscript is appropriate for the IJMSAR and is sufficiently original and interesting. If not, the manuscript may be rejected without being reviewed any further. Editor-in-Chief (EIC) first evaluate all manuscripts and rejected at this stage are insufficient origial content, scientific flaws, have very poor grammer or English languge or manuscript out side of IJMSAR aims and scope or manuscript not written as per IJMSAR Guidelines of Authors. Those that fullfill minimum criteria are forwarded to at least two subject experts for review process.
Peer Review Process
1. Generally, all the manuscript are reviewed by a minimum of two suitable external experts in the respective subject area. The reports of all the reviewers will be considered while deciding on acceptance/revision or rejection of a manuscript, but the ultimate responsibility for acceptance or rejection lies with the Editor. Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
2. EIC can ask one or more advisory board members for their suggestions upon a manuscript, before making the final decision.
3. Associate editor and review editors provide administrative support to maintain the integrity of the peer - review process.
4. In accordance with COPE recommendations on ethical editing for Editors, Editors will assign any submissions they cannot handle (e.g. if they are the author of an article submitted to their own journal) to a member of the Editorial Board or a guest editor.
Author's Suggestion for the Reviewer
The authors can suggest the peer reviewers as per the following criteria
1. The suggested reviewers should have higher academic standing in the subject area of the submitted Original Research Article / Review Article / Case Report.
2. The suggested reviewers should not be from the author's own Institute or from past Institute.
3. Authors must provide the Institutional / Academic E-mail Id.
In case, authors challenge the editor's negative decision with suitable arguments, the manuscript can be sent to one more reviewer and the final decision will be made based upon his recommendations.
